With over 28 years of experience leading the company, Ms. Howitt is responsible for exploring strategic alliances that serve to enhance the scope and breadth of services offered by NAI Capital.
Mrs. Howitt's business savvy and entrepreneurship has earned her the coveted distinction of Los Angeles and San Fernando Business Journal’s Executive of the Year and CFO of the Year. Ms. Howitt was featured in GlobeSt & Real Estate Forum where she participated as a panelist at their 2019 Women of Influence Conference, which celebrated women who drive the commercial real estate industry forward. Furthermore, she has been honored by Bisnow as one of the top 50 Los Angeles Power Women in the commercial real estate industry for two consecutive years.
In May of 2017, Ms. Howitt was awarded an Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO). The Ellis Island Medals of Honor are presented annually to American citizens who have distinguished themselves within their own ethnic groups while exemplifying the values of the American way of life. Past Medalists include seven U.S. Presidents, several world leaders, two Nobel Prize winners and countless leaders of industry, education, the arts, sports and government, along with everyday Americans who have made freedom, liberty and compassion a part of their life's work. Ms. Howitt is on the Leadership Board of NAI Global that encompasses 6,000 professionals with 375 offices worldwide.
Ms. Howitt earned her B.A. from The University of Massachusetts Amherst, attended the Brown University School of Engineering, and earned an MBA from the UCLA Graduate School of Management while simultaneously working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on an unmanned spacecraft project.
Professional Associations & Designations
Ms. Howitt is an enthusiastic supporter of the Navy Seal Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ziman School of Real Estate at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She uses this opportunity to help mentor graduate students in the UCLA Anderson AREA Mentorship Program. She says that the most rewarding aspect of her career is “inspiring other women to break the glass ceiling.”
