Scope of Experience
Jim Kruse serves as Director of Brokerage for NAI Capital Commercial, supporting the firm’s 13 offices across Southern California. Based in the West Los Angeles office, Jim is spearheading the development of an industry-leading brokerage training program and driving strategic recruitment initiatives. His efforts are instrumental in ensuring NAI Capital Commercial continues to attract top-tier talent and strengthen its position in the competitive Southern California commercial real estate market.
Jim brings nearly four decades of experience to the role. He most recently served as Regional President of Brokerage at Kidder Mathews, where he was a key force behind the firm’s expansion in Southern California. His leadership background includes 15 years as Senior Managing Director for CBRE’s Los Angeles offices, Executive Vice President at Grubb & Ellis overseeing Greater Los Angeles, and a successful tenure as a top-producing broker at Cushman & Wakefield. He also served as CEO of Los Angeles-based investor and developer DPI Retail.
A lifelong Los Angeles resident, Jim’s accomplishments extend beyond commercial real estate. A former All-American water polo player at UC Irvine, he was inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame. He competed with the U.S. National and Olympic water polo teams for seven years and later served as an Olympic commentator for NBC and ABC Sports across five Olympic Games.
